It's All About Mindset and A Positive Mental Attitude

Sometimes life is filled with challenges and kamikaze storms. When I was diagnosed with breast cancer those storms and fears swirled around like monsters inside me and lurked in every corner around me in a latent state and even today it seems to sit in the corner like a threat. The hospital staff thought I was nuts and my behaviour bizarre. The truth is, fear seemed to immobilize me and I felt death was at the doorstep ready to ambush everything I did in trying to heal myself. It seemed impossible to gain control and calm my mind. I was inundated with information and didn't know where to turn. After my treatment and surgery, I found myself through prayer, meditation, yoga, Reiki healing, and journaling. I garnered the strength to make healthy lifestyle changes to help reduce the risks of cancer recurrence. My decision to focus on healthy food choices, decreasing stress, exercise, hydration, sleep, deep breathing, reframing my mindset to adopt positive thoughts, and maintaining a positive attitude helped me move forward. Every day that monster got smaller and the storms passed. Standing steadfast a metamorphosis occurred. I found love, joy, laughter, and a reason to live to harness my actions and strengthen my resolve. A positive mental attitude changed everything. Giving thanks to those around me, an attitude of gratitude, the realization that love is a decision, and the choice to live and to be happy that I am alive, motivated me to change, renew, and transform. In turning my life around, becoming a cancer coach, and helping others, turned those happy hormones into realizable goals and initiatives as healing filled every crevice.
I found giving back to be my healing medicine.
